How Kaysser Heimtiernahrung became the highest-performing company in its sector.

Before implementing the ODION ERP system, Kaysser Heimtiernahrung GmbH worked with an outdated system that was only partially digitalized. Employees had to load picking lists manually, and order management was not integrated with the warehouse management system, leading to delays in warehouse processes. Efficiency in wholesale operations urgently needed to improve. Many companies are not yet sufficiently equipped technically for digital transformation, even though studies forecast revenue increases of around 15% through digital measures. For Kaysser, it was clear that taking the step toward digitalization was necessary to remain future-proof.

By implementing the open-source ERP system Odoo with custom-built wholesale components, Kaysser Heimtiernahrung GmbH achieved a comprehensive digital transformation in just three years. A new product information management (PIM) system enables the automated exchange of product data, and customer orders are now received through multiple channels, three of which are already fully automated. Picking processes are now organized in waves that are transmitted digitally to the warehouse. With the ODION Mobile app, employees can carry out all picking and shipping processes digitally. Shipping notifications are also now partially automated, and an API interface for shipping will soon go live.

Kaysser is well positioned for the future: planned enhancements in e-invoicing and customer relationship management will further increase automation and efficiency, ensuring the company is optimally prepared for future requirements.
