GAEB with Odoo
it’s that simple.

GAEB (Joint Committee for Electronics in Construction) is a standard developed specifically for the exchange of construction information.

It enables the structured and standardised transfer of specifications, tender data and invoicing information between the various stakeholders in the construction industry. This leads to greater transparency and efficiency in project management.

How does
GAEB work?

The exchange of GAEB data takes place in several phases, covering the entire life cycle of a construction project.

Implementation and documentation

For you, this means: transparency throughout all project phases – without any disruption.

GAEB in Odoo
easily integrated.

Import/export of GAEB files directly into Odoo quotations/orders. Master data mapping, editing, re-export – all without coding.

The first phase, the scope of works (81), involves the preparation and specification of bills of quantities.

The second phase, tendering and contract award (81 to 86), covers the tendering of construction works, the processing and evaluation of tenders, and the award of the contract.

The third phase, construction and invoicing (from Phase 31, quantity take-off), covers the execution of the construction works and the associated quantity and invoicing documentation.

GAEB stands for Gemeinsamer Ausschuss Elektronik im Bauwesen (Joint Committee for Electronics in Construction) and refers to a DIN-standardized electronic file format for the construction industry. It standardizes and speeds up the processes of tendering, awarding, and billing (AVA) and enables the structured transfer of bills of quantities, quote, and billing data between all parties involved. GAEB files are primarily used in four areas: requests for quotes, quote submission, order placement, and the exchange of quotes between companies.

All relevant ones: 80 (needs assessment), 81–86 (tendering through billing), and 31–35 (construction execution & documentation). The integration thus covers the key phases of day-to-day business – particularly the import of tenders and the export of quotes.

All three format generations: GAEB 90 (D files), GAEB 2000 (P files), and GAEB DA XML (X files), including XML versions 3.2 and 3.3.

Yes. You can create GAEB files directly from Odoo and send them as a tender to your subcontractors. Their quotes can then be imported back into Odoo.
