How Schreinerei Feld replaced analogue processes in its craft business.

At this medium-sized craft business, the need for precise workflows and clear structures within a central ERP system was becoming increasingly apparent. Efficiency was being significantly hampered by unclear responsibilities and manual processes. In the construction sector, more and more processes are being digitalised, which makes being properly set up important for SMEs too. In this industry, public tenders are handled via GAEB data exchange (Gemeinsamer Ausschuss Elektronik im Bauwesen – the German joint committee for electronics in construction). GAEB makes it possible to submit bids and to manage the extensive bill of quantities throughout the tendering process.

A large part of Schreinerei Feld's business comes through public tenders processed via GAEB data exchange. For this reason, a compatible connection between GAEB and the new ERP system was absolutely essential. ODION was commissioned to introduce Odoo as a future-proof ERP system and to implement the GAEB interface. By replacing the in-house ERP system with Odoo, the challenges of day-to-day operations were resolved for the long term. The maintenance work that the previous ERP system had required was eliminated with the move to Odoo.
