The challenge:
Before the introduction of the ODION ERP system, Kaysser Heimtiernahrung GmbH was working with an outdated system that was only digitized to a limited extent. Employees had to load picks manually and order management was not integrated into the merchandise management system, which led to delays in the warehouse process. Efficiency in wholesale urgently needed to be increased. Many companies are not yet technically equipped for a digital transformation, although studies predict sales increases of around 15% through digital measures. For Kaysser, it was clear that a step towards digitalization was necessary in order to remain fit for the future.
Our solution:
By implementing the open source ERP system Odoo with customized wholesale components, Kaysser Heimtiernahrung GmbH has achieved a comprehensive digital transformation in just three years. A new product information management (PIM) system enables the automated exchange of article data, and customer orders are received via multiple channels, three of which are already fully automated. Picking processes are now organized in waves that are transmitted digitally to the warehouse. With the mobile application ODION Mobile, employees can carry out all picking and shipping processes digitally. Shipping notifications are now also partially automated, and an API interface for shipping will soon go live.
Kaysser is well positioned for the future: Planned enhancements in e-invoicing and customer relationship management will further increase automation and efficiency so that the company is optimally prepared for the requirements of the future.
